The Jefferson Center for Interprofessional Practice & Education (JCIPE) is pleased to offer a Certificate of Excellence in Interprofessional Collaborative Practice.

This certificate offers students the opportunity to distinguish themselves through deeper engagement in interprofessional activities and enhancement of teamwork skills.

Students elect an area of concentration, choosing amongst clinical, education, or research tracks.

What Tracks are Available?

  • Clinical Track - participate in patient-facing programs in healthcare settings
  • Education Track - deliver, design, or participate in interprofessional programs
  • Scholarship Track - engage in research or service

What are the Requirements?

  • Complete 10-20 hours of activities
  • Fulfill all track requirements and deliverables
  • Write a final reflection essay

What are the tracks?

Clinical Track    
  Participate in a patient-facing program in a healthcare setting such as the Jefferson Student Interprofessional Complex Care Collaborative (J-SICCC)
  • Capstone presentation OR,
  • Conference abstract submission
Education Track
Delivery Sub-Track Co-facilitate interprofessional program(s)
  • Training verification AND,
  • Feedback from co-facilitators
Design Sub-Track Develop or revise interprofessional curriculum
  • Curricular documents
Participation Sub-Track Engage in approved interprofessional activities inventory programs
  • Attendance AND
  • Participation attestation
Scholarship Track
Research Sub-Track Participate in an interprofessional research project
  • Abstract or manuscript submission OR
  • Conference presentation
Service Sub-Track Engage in JCIPE initiatives such as newsletter editorial board, conference planning, and student advisory board
  • Documentation of engagement in JCIPE initiatives
Note: A final reflection essay is required for each track.

Note: Students must meet foundational requirements in interprofessional collaborative practice as a pre-requisite or co-requisite for earning the Certificate of Excellence.
