Letter from Fellowship Director
Thank you for visiting our Hospice and Palliative Medicine Fellowship website. As the Division of Palliative Care, we share the mission of maximizing the health and quality of life of older persons and those with serious illness by partnering with patients, families, and communities. Our clinical work takes place not only across the institution itself but also throughout the Philadelphia region. During this fellowship year, our fellows have the opportunity to see patients in multiple care settings including here at Jefferson Center City, Jefferson Methodist Hospital, Vitas Hospice, long term care at the Hill at Whitemarsh and the Watermark and pediatrics at A.I. DuPont Hospital for Children. I am confident that the experience our fellows get from our exceptional faculty in these diverse settings prepares them for a successful career in the dynamically changing world of Palliative Medicine.
We are excited to continue to offer premier fellowship training in Hospice and Palliative Medicine through our 1 year ACGME accredited fellowship program. Our graduates practice across many clinical settings and continue to provide exceptional care throughout the region long after completing fellowship training.
Completing a fellowship in Hospice and Palliative Medicine and becoming an Academic Palliative Care Provider has been one of the great joys in my career. Joining the team here at Jefferson has been formative and affirming for me in that I have been blessed to work with a group that is as passionate about their work as I am. I am inspired on a daily basis by the hard work and dedication of our team, and I know our fellows experience incredible personal and professional growth throughout their training by being part of this amazing team.
