Admission Process
The admissions process at Jefferson is as easy as 1-2-3.
- Complete and submit an application through PharmCAS. The admission cycle is July through June for Jefferson, but the ideal time to apply is July through October of the year prior to entry.
- Respond quickly to invitations to interview. Jefferson reviews applications as soon as they are complete and will communicate to you within a couple of weeks. Remember: the interview is an opportunity for both the college and for you to learn more about each other. Be sure to prepare questions for the Jefferson participants. Admissions decisions are based on the information found in your application and from your onsite interview.
- Respond YES when you are extended an offer of admission.

Tips for Success
- Be succinct, specific, and thorough when preparing your application. Your application is the first impression that Jefferson has of you and all questions are important. It is important to get a feel for what you have experienced, what you have managed within a time increment, and what you bring as your background.
- Prepare for your interview. Practice responses to common interview questions; utilize your campus career center for assistance.
- Learn about pharmacy and the Jefferson program. This will allow you to ask questions that are important to you in your decision making.
FAQs
When should I start the admissions process?
For most applicants once 50% of the pre-requisite courses have been completed, application to the Jefferson pharmacy program may be considered.
When is the ideal time to submit an application?
At the beginning of the admissions cycle, the cycle at Jefferson opens in July and closes the beginning of June. Ideally your application is submitted and is complete by October.
How will I know when my application is complete?
A completed application contains: PharmCAS application, verified designation of transcripts, and 2 letters of reference. You may monitor the process in PharmCAS and see when your transcripts become verified and when your references have been uploaded.
How much time will the process take on average?
Jefferson will begin review once the application is considered complete. Typically the review process is completed within 2 weeks.
How will Jefferson notify me if I get an interview?
Jefferson will send you an email invitation for an interview using the preferred email designated in your PharmCAS application. It is important that you remove any blocker that may prevent this email from arriving to you and that you check your junk folder.
What do I need to know to prepare for the onsite interview?
Preparation and practice will help you have a more confident experience. Take advantage of your career services center or get a friend to give you a mock interview. Be familiar with why you want to pursue a pharmacy degree, information you included in your application, and what questions you will want to ask faculty and students.
What does a typical interview day look like?
The interview lasts about four hours. There are multiple components to the interview experience including: program overview, campus tour, faculty interview and interactions with current JCP students and other applicants.
