Student Research Awards
Sidney Kimmel Medical College presents Student Research Awards each year. If you participated in research as a medical student at SKMC, consider submitting your name for an award.
The Hyman Menduke Research Award (est. 1980) is sponsored by Dr. Michael Le Witt of the Class of 1974 in honor of Hyman Menduke, PhD, who was Director of Sponsored Programs. It is presented during the Class Day ceremony to up to two graduating MD students and up to one graduating MD/PhD student who have demonstrated excellence in research while at SKMC and includes a monetary award.

The following nomination materials are required in the format of a single electronic file (PDF or Word):
- A letter (max 1 page) that summarizes the breadth, depth, and impact of your research during your time at SKMC.
- Your CV (max 3 pages). This should include separate sections listing education/training, all research activities while a student at Jefferson (including participation in research programs, such as CWIC, Summer Research Program, etc.), presentations, posters, abstracts, and peer-reviewed publications. Where possible, include live, embedded hyperlinks to your content such as Pubmed citations, open access manuscripts, or Jefferson Digital Commons.
Off campus research is eligible, but all research activity to be considered must have been conducted since you started medical school.
These materials should be submitted electronically as a single packet to Annette Chesson. Please clearly specify which award(s) the nomination is for. The deadline for nominations is February 19, 2018.
