Canvas provides access to a variety of resources and applications for students, faculty and staff. It includes course information, departmental and research web sites. Jefferson's Academic Commons offers students a number of guides for using the Canvas application. Please consult the Canvas Student Guide for more information.

The Campus Key authenticates your identity. It is assigned by IT services and will be your login credential for accessing all Jefferson University application and IT services.

Within two weeks of receiving your acceptance notification from the SKMC admissions office, you will receive two separate emails from the office of academic systems. The first email will provide you with a link to confirm your enrollment. The second email will ask you to update and complete your personal information and change your password.

JeffMail is the Thomas Jefferson University e-mail system. The formula for Thomas Jefferson University email addresses is: [email protected]. JeffMail is the only formal method of electronic communication between Thomas Jefferson University and students, faculty and staff. It is also the primary way in which advisors, instructors and other faculty and staff communicate with students. It is very important that all students check their JeffMail account at least once per day to ensure no important e-mails are overlooked. Important information will be sent periodically leading up to First-Year Orientation.

Students are not required to bring a computer to campus. We have computer labs and the library is open 24/7 with computers available for all students and faculty. Most students do choose to bring their own computers for convenience, and if you plan to purchase a new computer, we suggest a laptop.

All students need to self-register the computer(s) they use to access Jefferson's wireless network once per semester. This is a simple process required for security reasons. When activated, self-registration will present you with a screen when you open your browser. Simply enter your campus key and password along with some identifying information. This information will help us to identify you should the network detect viruses or other problems with your computer.

We are continually upgrading and expanding the wireless network. Access is currently available in all dormitory residences and most classrooms. All students are able to gain access to the wireless network. However, your computer needs to be configured.

If you need assistance with your wireless setup please call the IS&T Service Desk at 215-503-7975.
