Center for Population Health Research at Lankenau Institute for Medical Research (LIMR)
The Center for Population Health Research at the Lankenau Institute for Medical Research (LIMR) is a collaboration between Main Line Health and Jefferson College of Population Health.
The mission of the Center is to advance the health and wellness of the Main Line Health patient community through impactful research studies of population health management and health outcomes assessment. The Center spearheads studies that explore the unique features of the patient population served by Main Line Health, including research that helps the organization enhance current care models through a better understanding of the underlying social and economic challenges inherent or under-addressed in the community.
Institute for Smart & Healthy Cities
Jefferson’s Institute for Smart and Healthy Cities was created to support the research, innovation and education that is happening across the university focusing on transforming urban environments into smart and healthy cities. The institute is conceived as an aggregator and facilitator of transdisciplinary research and education across multiple disciplines driving the future of our cities and communities. Supported by data and smart technologies, Smart Cities is an emerging paradigm in the development of urban environments in an attempt to build more efficient, healthier and livable cities.
The Institute for Smart and Healthy Cities is a collaborative effort between our College, the College of Architecture and the Built Environment, and the Kanbar College of Design, Engineering and Commerce.
Center for Population Health (formerly 1889 Jefferson Center for Population Health)
The 1889 Jefferson Center for Population Health was founded as a collaborative research and resource Center focused on population health and disease prevention to benefit the citizens living in Cambria and Somerset Counties. The 1889 Foundation made a major gift to the College of Population Health of Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia to establish the Center. In early 2023, the College worked with the 1889 Foundation to spinoff the Center into a standalone non-profit organization. Starting July 2023, the Center will operate as an independent entity, but the College remains committed and supportive of its success.
