The MD/MPH dual degree option is open to medical school students from across the United States.
Generally, MD/MPH students complete coursework for the MPH between their 3rd and 4th years of medical school.
MD/MPH students usually begin the fall trimester (September) and finish their MPH coursework in the summer trimester (June). Both degrees (MD and MPH) are conferred the following May.
Scholarships are available.
Physicians with an MPH degree are prepared to make a difference at the patient's side and in the community. The degree provides advanced training in research and education and informs clinical practice with underserved populations. Physicians with an MPH degree assume leadership positions in the healthcare setting, in state and local public health departments, non-governmental health organizations, and in the global context.
Jefferson's Master of Public Health (MPH) program is accredited by the Council on Education for Public Health (CEPH).
