Traditional BSN
The Traditional BSN program is a transfer program for individuals with no prior nursing education and no bachelor’s degree. This program enrolls students who have completed 58 prerequisite credits at another institution.
Students who do not meet our academic requirements for the PACE program, but are interested in pursuing a career in nursing, may apply to the Traditional BSN program after completing two years (and 58 prerequisite courses) at another institution.
Admissions Criteria for Transfer Students
The following criteria are evaluated during the application process:
- Minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA required for consideration
- Letter grades of A and B in prerequisite coursework
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- An understanding of the profession of nursing
Course Equivalency Guides
Thomas Jefferson University has general agreements with more than 40 partner schools. These flexible agreements allow students to begin their education at the school of their choice and take the courses they want, including the prerequisites they need for Thomas Jefferson University.

Take a 60- to 90-minute tour of campus with a current Thomas Jefferson University student or admissions staff member. Tour stops will include classrooms and labs, an apartment and the Jeff-IBC Wellness Center. - Open Houses
Our comprehensive open house events allow potential students to learn about the specifics of their program of interest on the same day they hear about Thomas Jefferson University, the campus, financial aid and a range of other University services. - Information Sessions
