Innovation Labs

Jefferson’s Innovation Labs provide occupational therapy practitioners with professional development within a supportive online community. Labs are time-efficient, cost-effective, interactive, and responsive to current trends that influence contemporary service delivery. Join our community to collaborate and co-create solutions to every day practice challenges with online peers! 

Each Lab is facilitated by an expert on the topic and includes: 

  • 3-4 interactive virtual sessions (~1.25 hours in the evening)
  • Weekly online learning activities in between sessions
  • Access to supplemental resources
  • Contact hours 

School-Based Practice

This Innovation Lab empowers school-based OT practitioners to build their capacity for evidence based service delivery in accordance with their role as related service professionals. Participants learn/co-create practical practice solutions and ways to advocate with administration and school teams.

Professional Topics in Occupational Therapy

This Innovations Lab provides a supportive learning environment for occupational therapy practitioners to explore contemporary topics or frameworks that are applicable across practice areas. Upcoming topics include coaching in practice, occupational justice, and use of the Cognitive Disabilities Model in practice. 

Adults with Intellectual Disabilities

This Innovation Lab provides a supportive learning environment to empower occupational therapy practitioners working with adults and older adults with intellectual disabilities in use of evidence informed best practice strategies. Lab topics include updates on current evidence, development and implementation of practical strategies, and information sharing to build a collaborative community of practitioners.
