Study Abroad
Imagine studying at an international textile school or spending weeks studying printed textiles at one of the most famous textile museums in the world. With Thomas Jefferson University’s Textile Design program, these are exactly the types of opportunities offered to our students to enrich their education and provide them with a greater understanding of the global textile business.
Our Programs Include
Heriot Watt University - Borders Campus, Galashiels, Scotland
This semester-long exchange program is for undergraduates studying weave, knit or print. The campus incorporates a beautifully renovated, turn-of-the century textile mill, housing state-of-the-art textile studios. Students may take studio and technical textile courses in this lovely rural setting in the Scottish countryside.
Massey University - Wellington, New Zealand
Students spend one semester studying fiber art, print and New Zealand culture in this study-abroad program. Students take a blend of college studies courses and textile design courses in this international setting.
Short Courses
The Textile Design Program offers short courses for students interested in a condensed international experience. Short courses are held during the Spring Break period. Current short course offerings include Italy, China and Japan.
In addition to the above opportunities, in recent years our students have studied abroad in: Rome, London, Manchester, Seoul, Saint Petersburg and Melbourne.
