Simulation Skills Lab

The Dr. Robert and Dorothy Rector Clinical Skills Simulation Center (Rector CSSC) provides residents with the resources to enhance their basic and advanced operative and endoscopy skills.

In this lab, residents have the opportunity and resources to practice suturing and knot tying (open and laparoscopic), bowel and vascular anastomoses, simulated surgery and upper/lower endoscopy, bedside procedures, and endovascular techniques.

There is also a daVinci surgeon console available to learn and practice robotic skills. The Skills Lab is open and available to the residents 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Rector Clinical Skills & Simulation Center

The Center maintains and utilizes a large collection of low-fidelity and high-fidelity mechanical simulators that support skills attainment sessions and structured practice sessions for every core skills set from invasive clinical skills to communication skills to team building skills. We are able to support highly sophisticated surgical simulation training programs with equipment funded by the Measey Foundation.
