The mission of the Thomas Jefferson University Department of Pharmacology, Physiology & Cancer Biology is to promote, facilitate, and enhance the discovery, development, and rational utilization of novel pharmacotherapeutics.
Goals & Objectives
The broad, long-range goals and objectives of the Thomas Jefferson University Department of Pharmacology & Experimental Therapeutics are to:
- Conduct high-quality sponsored clinical research that adds value to the drug development process partners.
- Stimulate, facilitate and implement investigator-initiated clinical studies to exploit opportunities in translational research at the institution.
- Serve as a nucleus for the development of collaborative clinical research activities, to exploit the unique patient populations available with Jefferson Hospital and its clinical affiliates.
- Train future clinical pharmacologists in the design, implementation, and analysis of human clinical trials to support drug discovery and development.
