How many students will be in the Master’s program?
The anticipated number of students for each cohort is 30.
How long will it take to complete the program?
If you have a bachelor’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology /Communication Sciences and Disorders, or if you have completed all of the necessary prerequisite coursework, you will be able to graduate in two years, including one summer session.
If I don’t have some or all of the prerequisite coursework, can I take it at Thomas Jefferson University?
At the present time, Thomas Jefferson University does not offer the prerequisite courses. You would have to take them at another institution or online.
Is financial assistance available for graduate students?
The Office of Financial Aid at Thomas Jefferson University assists graduate students in securing federal, state, institutional and private funding to help meet the cost of education. In addition, scholarships may be available to highly qualified applicants.
Does Jefferson offer housing for graduate students?
The Thomas Jefferson University Office of Housing and Residence Life assists graduate students who wish to reside either on- or off-campus during all or part of their program.
Can I choose my externship sites if I am interested in a particular clinical population?
Clinical assignments are made by the Director of Clinical Practice, but may be guided by the particular interests and/or geographical preferences of each student. Because placement at many sites is competitive, students may be required to interview for an externship.
Is there a comprehensive examination at the end of the master's degree program?
Yes, students are required to complete a comprehensive exam during their last semester.
