Occupational Therapy Named a “Best Career”

U.S.News and World Report listed Occupational Therapy as #19 of the best 100 jobs and #4 of the Best Health Care Jobs of 2022. Their criteria include job outlook (availability of work), work-life balance, and high job satisfaction.

Increased Demand for Occupational Therapists

The U.S. Department of Labor reports that Occupational Therapy employment is expected to increase by 12% between 2022 and 2032 due to a growing aging population, early diagnosis of developmental needs in young children, and technological advances that improve survival in individuals with disability. These changing factors mean that many graduates are receiving multiple job offers and are able to choose the one that fits them best.

Salary

Salary depends on the state and the field in which occupational therapists work. Visit the U.S. Department of Labor for the latest salary information.  Visit American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA) to read more about the career of occupational therapy.
