What is Prediabetes?
- Prediabetes is when blood glucose (sugar) levels in your blood are higher than normal, but not high enough to be diagnosed with diabetes.
- Insulin helps your body to change sugars and starches into energy. Your blood glucose levels increase when your body isn't making enough insulin or insulin isn't working effectively.
- There are no symptoms of prediabetes. Many people only find out they have prediabetes by having their blood glucose tested.
How to Reverse Prediabetes?
The CDC-led National Diabetes Prevention Program helps people with prediabetes make lasting lifestyle changes to prevent or delay type 2 diabetes.
Working with a trained Lifestyle Coach, you’ll learn how to
- eat healthy
- add physical activity into your life
- manage stress.
With other participants, you’ll celebrate successes and work to overcome challenges.
