Jefferson Achieves Top 10 Honors in DesignIntelligence Rankings

DesignIntelligence has recognized Jefferson’s interior design, interior architecture, architecture and landscape architecture programs in its prestigious annual rankings.

Interior design made the top 10 in seven focus categories (up from three last year): construction materials and methods; design technologies; engineering fundamentals; healthy built environments; interdisciplinary studies; sustainable built environments/adaptive design/resilient design; and transdisciplinary collaboration across architecture, engineering and construction. In addition, the interior architecture program earned a top 10 spot for sustainable built environments/adaptive design/resilient design.

“The breadth of categories in which we’re nationally ranked reflects our incredibly comprehensive and holistic design education,” says Lauren Baumbach, director of the interior design and interior architecture programs.

DesignIntelligence also asked hiring professionals from which schools they hire the most. Jefferson’s architecture, interior design, interior architecture and landscape architecture programs scored high in this category proving readiness and competence of its graduates when they enter the profession, says Barbara Klinkhammer, executive dean of the College of Architecture and the Built Environment.
