Book an Appointment

The Student Writing Center uses Appointment Plus to book all appointments. Please read all of the information below before scheduling your appointment. To schedule, click the "Book Now" button below.

When you make an appointment, the first step is "Select service." In the drop-down menu, be sure to select "Student Writing Center 30 minutes" or "Student Writing Center 60 minutes." If you select "Academic Support" instead of "Student Writing Center," we will have to ask you to reschedule.

Please only schedule one appointment per week, unless you have already contacted us about the need for writing support for a longer paper. We can sometimes offer follow-up appointments within the same week, but please check first by sending an email message to Shawn Gonzalez.

Please be sure to send your draft assignment for review as a Word document, not as a PDF or through a link to a shared file.

Note: If you are a student at the East Falls Campus, you should make your appointment for that location via Starfish. More information about how to make an in-person or online writing appointment with an East Falls writing tutor, and for more information about academic success skills tutoring, which includes help with time management. If you have any questions or concerns about tutoring at the East Falls campus, contact [email protected].

After clicking the "Book Now" button above, please follow these steps in Appointment Plus:

  1. Choose “Student Writing Center” from the Select Service drop-down menu in the left-hand column.
  2. OPTIONAL: If you have a preference for the staff member you’d like to work with, select their name from the Select Staff Member drop-down menu. Otherwise, select “No Preference."
  3. Select the date for which you’d like to make an appointment from the calendar widget. You’ll be taken to that date’s available appointment slots.
  4. After selecting your appointment time, you’ll be taken to the registration page. Click “New User,” then fill in your information. Although not required, you will have the option of creating a login and password. This is recommended if you plan to use our services repeatedly (and we encourage you to do so!). The process is quick and easy, and you may use your Jeff campus key and password.
  5. Click “Finalize Appointment.”
  6. You’ll receive a confirmation email with further instructions and direct contact information.

If you are unable to book an appointment at a time that works with your schedule, please email Shawn Gonzalez to discuss other potential options.
