Next Steps for Accepted International Students
Process after getting accepted into Jefferson:

Step 1: Confirm Your Enrollment
- Receive an admission offer letter from Admissions
- Accept the admission offer by paying the tuition deposit
- Once your enrollment is confirmed, the Office of International Admissions will invite you to the International Student Services portal
- Complete the submission for the required documents, including official degree transcripts, diplomas, and other documentation requested
Step 2: Apply for Your I-20 or DS-2019
- Login to the International Services Portal:
- Navigate to http://isss.jefferson.edu
- Click on International Students
- Click on Campus Key Login
- Login with your Jefferson Campus Key and password
- Ensure all biographic and financial support information is entered correctly and MATCH your passport and your I-20/DS-2019
- You will receive an email informing you of any missing information and issuing your I-20
- Download your I-20 from the International Students Portal, and you will receive a confirmation email
Step 3: Apply for Your F-1 or J-1 Visa
- Pay the I-901 SEVIS fee and schedule your visa appointment at the nearest U.S. consulate
- Required documents for the visa appointment:
- Passport
- Proof of payment of the SEVIS fee
- I-20 or DS-2019 form
- Jefferson acceptance letter
- Proof of finances for your studies
- Evidence of intent to return home after studies
- NOTE: Canadian citizens must pay the I-901 SEVIS fee and have an I-20 but do not need a visa stamp
- Inform your academic advisor, Office of International Student Programs, when you get a visa appointment and your visa
Step 4: Plan Your Move
- Arrive in the U.S. no more than 30 days before the program start date indicated on your Form I-20 or DS-2019
- Review resources from the Office of Student Engagement to get set up as a new student
Step 5: Attend Orientation
- Attend the orientation set up by your school and international student orientation to learn about your program, class registration, and other requirements
- Complete your F-1 Check-In/ J-1 Check-In per the International Student Portal guidelines
