College Education & Mentoring Awards
Thomas Jefferson University Award for Mentoring recognizes the exceptional efforts of a senior faculty member who has shown a continued dedication throughout their career to effectively mentoring junior faculty to achieve their full potential. Up to one award per College (or School outside of a College) will be given.
Nomination Process: Faculty may be nominated for this award by their College Dean or by the College’s Faculty Affairs Committee. Nominations should be approved by the College’s Executive Committee and the Dean prior to submission. The nomination packet should include a one to two-page letter of nomination, unabridged curriculum vitae, and at least two testimonial letters of support from a former and/or current junior faculty mentee.
Eligibility: All full-time, non-visiting, faculty members with at least two years of service at Thomas Jefferson University are eligible to receive this award. A faculty member who has received this award is eligible to receive the award after an interval of seven years. This award will typically not be given to faculty in administrative roles such as deans, department chairs, and academic administrators. Program directors are eligible for this award.
