The 8th Annual Philadelphia Trauma Training Conference: July 16-17, 2025

The Philadelphia Trauma Training Conference will return in person taking place on the Jefferson - East Falls Campus in 2025.

Please hold this space on your calendars and watch for the call for workshop and poster submissions in January of 2025.

2024 PPTC Dr. Roberta Waite, Keynote Speaker

Over 450 people joined the 7th Annual Philadelphia Trauma Training Conference: Accelerating Health Equity by Addressing Social and Structural Determinants of Health on the Jefferson - East Falls Campus in July of 2024.  The conference featured 50 unique workshop sessions, as well as a keynote, “Individual and Collective Trauma: We must Strive for Justice, Healing, and Joy,” by Dr. Roberta Waite, EdD, PMHCNS, RN, MSN, ANEF, FAAN, Dean and Professor at Georgetown University School of Nursing in Washington DC.

This program did not qualify for NBCC credit.

J-TEN offered a synchronous virtual symposium on November 21, 2021 with the following sessions:

Keynote: Laura van Dernoot Lipsky, MSW, The Trauma Stewardship Institute
Navigating Amidst Overwhelming Times – Whether because of trauma, crises, or really, really hard days

Participants' objectives:

  • Describe and respond to the cumulative toll on those who are exposed to the suffering, hardship, crises, or trauma of humans, other living beings or the planet itself.
  • Develop a deeper understanding of trauma exposure and the tools for reconciling such exposure, so folks can do their work sustainably.
  • Explain to people in a broad base of fields how to create a sustainable individual and collective culture.

Creating Presence Burnout, Chronic Organizational Stress and Using Trauma-Informed Care to Respond to These Challenges

Participants' objectives:

  • Define burnout.
  • Describe signs of chronic stress in organizations.
  • Describe some advantages of trauma-informed care.

Participants' objectives:

  • Demonstrate ways to increase understanding of the Eight Dimensions of Wellness.
  • Recognize ways to improve their Emotional, Environmental, or Occupational well-being in the workplace and in daily life.
  • Explain strategies for incorporating self-care and wellness into their workplace and daily life.

Participants were eligible for 1-3 contact hours (depending on the number of sessions attended).
