The Urology Residency at Jefferson is a five-year training program well suited to prepare a trainee for either fellowship or private practice. The first year is a combination of general surgery and exposure to urology. During PGY 2 through 5, residents will gain in-depth exposure to general urology and a wide breadth of urology subspecialties. Subspecialties represented by Jefferson faculty include oncology, endourology, neurologic urology, pediatrics, infertility, male reconstruction and female pelvic reconstruction. Throughout their rotations, residents have the opportunity to learn in a variety of clinical settings, including a large academic hospital, a dedicated pediatric hospital, a community hospital, and a VA hospital setting.
