Breast Imaging

Research

The Jefferson-Honickman Breast Imaging Center is committed to advancement of the detection and treatment of breast cancer. Ongoing research projects aim to enhance early detection and prediction of a person’s likelihood of developing breast cancer with imaging techniques such as contrast mammography, contrast ultrasound, MRI and automated breast ultrasound and through the integration of artificial intelligence/deep learning models. Cryoablation trials for the treatment of breast tumors are underway assessing differences in patient satisfaction and outcomes compared to conventional breast surgery. We additionally have research projects and initiative aimed at mitigating healthcare disparities and improving inclusion of underserved patient populations in clinical research to improve healthcare outcomes and delivery.
