Our Support Takes the Following Forms
Education.
We provide medical students, residents, and fellows with a rich and rewarding educational experience as they rotate through all our clinical services: Adult (Inpatient and Outpatient); Emergency; Consultation-Liaison; Substance Abuse; Pain; Child and Adolescent; Sleep Disorders; and various specialty electives. All our residency and fellowship programs are approved by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education's Residency Review Committees. Information on our residency training program can be found on the Residency pages.
Patient Care.
We are dedicated to providing excellent psychiatric care to patients in the Delaware Valley area.
Research.
The department is focused on clinical research. We investigate the symptoms and treatments of various psychiatric illnesses, including Alzheimer’s disease and novel treatment modalities (MBAT - Mindfulness-Based Art Therapy). Our Mood Disorders Program is conducting innovative research on the identification and treatment of the side effects of psychiatric medications. In addition, it conducts clinical trials of potential new medications for mood disorders.
