Research is an important mission in the Department of Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery at Thomas Jefferson University.  Over the past few years, the department has expanded its research effort with development of a basic science thyroid proteomics lab as well as translational research endeavors with animal models including rabbit, rat and pig.  Clinical databases have been created by members of our subdivisions, including for our skull base and rhinology, microvascular surgery patients, head and neck cancer patients, and endocrinology patients, facial plastics, and sleep surgery.
