Excellence & Innovation in Medical Education

Providing advanced medicine and superior care is at the core of Thomas Jefferson University Hospital’s commitment to its patients, its community and the nation. Since being established in 1825, this academic medical center has provided nationally recognized care intended to improve the health of all the communities it serves.

Jefferson accomplishes its mission in partnership with Thomas Jefferson University and as a member of the Jefferson Health System. It is one of only a few hospitals in the United States that has a Level I Trauma Center and a federally designated regional spinal cord injury center, as well as a nationally designated clinical cancer center.

Jefferson is resolved to set the standard for excellence in the delivery of patient care, patient safety and the quality of the healthcare experience, in providing exemplary clinical settings for educating healthcare professionals and in leading in the introduction of innovative methodologies for healthcare delivery and quality improvement.
