Hospital Medicine Point-of-Care Ultrasound Fellowship

The Divisions of Point-of-Care Ultrasound and Hospital Medicine at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital are accepting applications for candidates seeking a fellowship training program in Point-of-Care Ultrasound (POCUS) and part-time Hospital Medicine faculty position.  The Internal Medicine POCUS Fellowship is a one-year fellowship designed for internists to achieve proficiency in POCUS and also to become leaders in this emerging niche of Internal Medicine.  Our educators come from various clinical backgrounds, ensuring a unique and diverse training experience in a collaborative environment.

Fellowship Highlights

  • Weekly ultrasound shifts with graded supervision by faculty - divided between inpatient, outpatient, ED, and ICU.
  • Flexible schedule with clinical shifts as a night hospitalist at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital.
  • Weekly ultrasound review and quality assurance.
  • Weekly discussion of journal/social media education content.
  • Research and project mentorship.
  • Monthly Educator-of-the-Month series.
  • Participation in regional and national ultrasound conferences.
  • Development of administrative skills, experience to credential colleagues in POCUS, and experience to conduct a quality assurance program.
  • Competitive salary and CME.

Fellows will work clinically as nocturnist faculty in the Department of Hospital Medicine and will have responsibility for patient care and teaching.  Upon completion of fellowship, graduates will be considered competitive candidates for full-time faculty positions.  Unfortunately, at this time we cannot support applicants on visas.  Applicants must hold a medical degree and be board certified/board eligible in the field of Internal Medicine.

How to Apply

To apply, find 'TJUH' under the program list at the Society of Clinical Ultrasound Fellowship website.  Interviews will be conducted and positions offered on a rolling basis.
