Behzad Pavri, MD, FACC, FHRS

Biography: Dr. Pavri is Professor of Medicine and has been Director of the CCEP Fellowship Training Program at Thomas Jefferson university hospital since 2001.  He attended medical school at University of Bombay, completed Internal Medicine training at Harlem Hospital, fellowship in cardiovascular medicine at Columbia-Presbyterian Medical Center, and Electrophysiology fellowship at Massachusetts General Hospital.  He served as Assistant Professor of Medicine and was the CCEP Fellowship Program Director at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania for seven years before joining Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in 2001.

Academic Interests: Dr. Pavri’s interests are teaching, mentorship, clinical research, and patient care.  He teaches at all levels, including medical students at the Sidney Kimmel Medical College of Thomas Jefferson University, interns and residents, cardiology fellows, and electrophysiology fellows.  He organizes the ECG and EP core conferences.  He has mentored scores of medical students over the years.  He has written a textbook on syncope and has authored over 100 peer-reviewed publications, and multiple book chapters.  His academic interests include conduction system pacing and he is a reviewer for multiple journals in electrophysiology and cardiology.

Personal Interests: He enjoys classical music, playing the piano, traveling, reading, and spending time with his wife, family, and grandchildren.

Daniel R. Frisch, MD

Biography: Dr. Frisch became the Section Chief of Electrophysiology at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital on January 1, 2023. His predecessor started the program in 1980 and served as the director from 1980-2023. Dr. Frisch is a Phi Beta Kappa and Magna Cum Laude graduate from the University of Rochester with a degree in Chemistry and in Comparative Religions.  He was awarded his MD degree from New York University.  He completed his residency, internship, and fellowship in Cardiovascular Disease and fellowship in Clinical Cardiovascular Electrophysiology at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston, MA. He joined the faculty of Thomas Jefferson University in 2007 as an assistant professor and has ushered in the growth of AF ablation within the institution.He has given over 40 invited lectures, has served organizing and participating roles in regional and national meetings, has been a reviewer for several electrophysiology and cardiology journals, has over 50 peer-reviewed publications, multiple abstracts and posters, is the principal investigator in several sponsored studies, has co-authored a digital text book, and appeared in one television commercial.  

Academic Interests: He is currently an Associate Professor of Medicine and his clinical and research interests are in the management of atrial arrhythmias and the use of wearable electrocardiography.   

Personal Interests: Ice hockey and bicycling. He has completed multiple 100 mile charity rides for the American Cancer Society and the Multiple Sclerosis Society with the Thomas Jefferson Cycling team.

Reginald T. Ho, MD

Biography: Dr. Ho has been on faculty at Jefferson as an academic cardiac electrophysiologist since 2000.  He attended medical school at University of Pennsylvania where he completed training in Internal Medicine. He then went to San Francisco and completed a Fellowship in Cardiovascular Medicine at the University of California at San Francisco before returning to Philadelphia where he completed a Fellowship in Cardiac Electrophysiology at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania.

Clinical Interests: His academic interests are to understand the mechanisms of the arrhythmias that afflict people and how best to diagnose and treat them. He has written three textbooks in Cardiac Electrophysiology,  authored nearly 100 peer-reviewed publications, serves on the writing committee of the American College of Cardiology and is on the editorial board of the flagship electrophysiology journal, Heart Rhythm.

Personal Interests: He enjoys watching sports and spending time with his wife and two sons. He also enjoys traveling and visiting his family in Hawaii.

Hans F. Stabenau, MD, PhD

Biography: Dr. Stabenau grew up in Germany and the suburbs of New York City. He attended Williams College and then completed a PhD in physics at the University of Pennsylvania. Dr. Stabenau's postdoctoral work in medical physics at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center inspired him to become a doctor. He attended medical school at Yale School of Medicine. He completed his internal medicine residency at Brigham and Women’s Hospital. Dr. Stabenau completed cardiovascular disease and clinical cardiac electrophysiology fellowships at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston.

Clinical Interests: Dr. Stabenau’s clinical interests include lead management for pacemakers and defibrillators, complex atrial ablation, ventricular tachycardia ablation, and left atrial appendage occlusion.

Research Interests: Dr. Stabenau has published on topics including vectorcardiography, noninvasive measurement of electrical heterogeneity, and risk stratification for sudden cardiac death.

Personal Interests: Dr. Stabenau lives with two cats who are named Mr. Bingley and Mr. Darcy. He enjoys exercise, science fiction, playing cello, and cooking. He has started a fledgling meditation practice.
