Social Programming
The GSA organizes consistent social programming throughout the year to help students get to know each other, and to provide a much needed break from lab and work schedules. At the beginning of the year, the GSA hosts several Welcome Month events to help new students adjust to life at Jefferson and start to think of it as home. These include: a social hour at a local restaurant, morning and afternoon coffee breaks, and a lunch for PhD students following their first big exam in GC550.
Next up is a Fall Bash at a local restaurant were students have the opportunity to provide donations for Jefferson's Ramily Market and Philabundance, and gain an extra chance toward raffle prizes. To heat up the winter doldrums, the GSA hosts another opportunity for students to come together for the Winter Bash off campus at a local pub.
The final event of the year is a 'Welcome to Summer BBQ' on Jefferson's campus, where we reflect on the year together. This carnival-themed BBQ has great food and a much-needed opportunity to play games and relax!
