Where do you work?
I am a Landscape Designer in the water resources division at AKRF, Inc., and I have been here since June 2015.

How did you get this position?
I was encouraged by a classmate of mine to intern at the company. After about a year of enjoying the collaborative setting and focus on storm water within my internship, I interviewed to become a full-time employee.

What is something you’ve done in landscape architecture you are most proud of?
I have been able to show to a range of clients that there is more to a space than just being “landscaped”. I enjoy showing how much potential and opportunity a site has for place-making, habitat, and storm water conveyance.

Where do you work?
I am a Site Design Specialist in the Green Stormwater Infrastructure group at the Philadelphia Water Department, and have been here since May 2013.

How did you get this position?
While I was at Philadelphia University, I was selected for an internship Philadelphia’s world renowned Green City, Clean Waters program, which I learned about through my hydrology professor. I liked it so much, I worked a part-time job until graduation, then became full-time.

What is something you’ve done in landscape architecture you are most proud of?
I am most proud of being an agent in the development of stormwater management concepts throughout the city, specifically on park projects. Enhancing green spaces for residents is very rewarding.

Where do you work?
I am an Urban Designer at the Groundswell Design Group Inc.

How did you get this position?
I was referred by a colleague of mine. After interviewing and discussing the position with the firm’s principles I was offered the position in May of 2014.

What is something you’ve done in landscape architecture you are most proud of?
One of the most rewarding things, and in turn, something that I’m most proud of, is visiting a space once it has opened and seeing it being used by the public. Knowing that thousands of people are enjoying a space that I’ve helped design and install is incredibly fulfilling.

Where have you worked?
I worked at OLIN 3.5 years, and have now been with Groundswell for two years. I found both positions through networking.

What types of projects do you work on most frequently?
I work primarily on commercial urban projects - my specialty is temporary land art installations and “place making” such as Spruce Street Harbor Park, Winterfest, Summerfest, and Pearl Street Passage. 

What is something you’ve done in landscape architecture you are most proud of?
I've found that this profession allows me to be creative and puts me in the position where I can encourage creativity in those around me. Working at Groundswell I've had the chance to pull creative friends and colleagues into my projects. It's a win-win situation for me, my projects get bigger, better, more creative while they get to work on and build some really cool things. We are constantly pushing each other to experiment, learn, and we are making a living while doing it!

Where have you worked?
I have worked for Jonathan Alderson Landscape Architects, Inc. (JALA). I also had a few internships, at places including Jonathan Alderson Landscape Architects, Inc., the West Ward Neighborhood Partnership, and the Streets Department for the City of Philadelphia

What types of projects do you work on most frequently?
We do a variety of projects including high-end residential properties, master planning, corporate campuses, public gardens, and multi-family residential properties. 

What is a project you are most proud of?
I was able to see and be involved in the Longwood Gardens Meadow Garden project from start to finish.
