Dr. Ross Summer is a board-certified pulmonary and critical care physician and an NIH-funded investigator. Dr. Summer completed his residency training in internal medicine at Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, MD and then went on to complete a four-year pulmonary and critical care fellowship at Boston University. Dr. Summer spends his time attending on the pulmonary consult service and in the medical intensive care unit at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in Center City Philadelphia. In addition, Dr. Summer spends a significant portion of his time overseeing a basic science program, whose major focus is to understand the molecular mechanisms contributing to the pathogenesis of Acute Respiratory Distress syndrome (ARDS) and Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis (IPF).
