Research & Clinical Interests

As an assistant professor in the Division of Hematologic Malignancies and Hematopoietic Stem Cell Transplantation at Thomas Jefferson University, I am focused on building a career dedicated to the advancement of care of patients with myeloid malignancies, particularly AML and MDS. My specific research interest is in early-phase clinical trials utilizing novel targeted agents and on novel combinations with conventional chemotherapy. I have designed and initiated investigator initiated clinical trials in conjunction with collaborating laboratory colleagues where I serve as PI and seek to improve patient management and further the mechanistic understanding of novel agents and therapy resistance mechanisms in AML and MDS. I also serve as PI on industry sponsored and cooperative group clinical trials. To gain essential skills in clinical trial design and implementation, I am pursuing formalized training in clinical trial design, epidemiology, biostatistical methods and research ethics through a Master’s degree in Human Investigation through the Jefferson College of Biomedical sciences.
