2023-2024 Center for Outcomes & Measurement Capstone Students
Two entry-level occupational therapy doctoral students completed their capstone year with the Center for Outcomes and Measurement (COM). Under the faculty mentorship of MJ Mulcahey PhD, OTR/L, and with the guidance and support of onsite mentors, Nicole Gerhardt, OTD, OTR/L and Rachel Kim, OTD, OTR/L, and research coordinators Maclain Capron, MS, and Dana Johnson, DPT, Anna Norman and Nicole Tener spent the year immersed in a variety of projects related to spinal cord injury and measurement. They completed a presentation titled Data to Discovery: Using Measurement to Drive Research & Innovation in Occupational Therapy as a culmination of their capstone experience on April 30, 2024 in partial fulfillment of the Doctoral Degree in Occupational Therapy from the Jefferson College of Rehabilitation Sciences.
The Craig H. Neilsen Foundation; Pediatric Spine Foundation; Department of Defense; and National Institute of Disability, Independent Living and Rehabilitation Research provide funding for the research projects that supported the capstone experience. The faculty and staff of JCRS COM congratulate Anna and Nicole, and wish them all the best in their futures as occupational therapists.
