Biography

Dr. Sandra Hartasanchez received her medical degree from the Universidad Nacional Autonoma de Mexico (UNAM) in Mexico City and a Master in Public Health with a concentration in Global Health from the Harvard T.H. School of Public Health.

She has experience in research and public health interventions. In Mexico, she worked as a research assistant for a large cohort evaluating chronic conditions in Mexican women. She also served as medical advisor in a mhealth program for pregnant women, which was championed by the country's Ministry of Health. 

After completing her MPH, she worked as a research fellow in the Knowledge and Evaluation Research Unit at the Mayo Clinic in Rocheter, MN where she collaborated on various qualitative research projects and sysematic reviews. She was a primary researcher in collecting data for a multisite randomized control trial regarding shared decision making and patient-centered care. She also participated in the planning and design of enounter decision aids.
