Biography
Dr. Ramcharitar has 19 years of physician and healthcare leadership experience in profit, non-profit and academic health systems. His previous teaching positions include a lectureship at the University of Oxford Department of Public Health where he was responsible for teaching the Oxford medical students and re-designing the clinical course in public health. He has also lectured on the Oxford Brookes University MSc in Public Health Program. His teaching credentials include a Post-Graduate Diploma in Learning and Teaching in Higher Education (University of Oxford) and fellowship of the UK Higher Education Academy. He is a fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives and the UK Faculty of Public Health of the Royal Colleges of Physicians of the United Kingdom.
His roles include having served as the public health lead for populations of greater than 500,000 people in divisions of the largest single payer healthcare system in the world (the UK National Health Service).
Dr. Ramcharitar is currently the Vice President/Chief Medical Officer of the Memorial Hermann ACO & Population Health Service Organization in Houston, Texas, USA.
