Biography
Dr. Colin Plover is a health systems researcher, social entrepreneur, and innovator with seven years of experience practicing clinically at the bedside as a nurse. His research focuses on improving safety, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness of health systems using multi-method approaches and innovation strategies. This involves, in part, the investigation and development of technology for nurse-patient care allocation optimization. His clinical expertise is in medical-surgical nursing and he runs a civic-minded residential non-profit community in West Philadelphia. Dr. Plover is dedicated to pursuing research and implementing interventions to inform and drive the evolution of our health system and communities to one that better serves everyone with special attention paid to vulnerable populations and the environment. Dr. Plover earned his PhD and master’s in education from the University of Pennsylvania School of Nursing and Graduate School of Education respectively, two master’s degrees from Johns Hopkins University in public health and public health nursing, and a master’s in adult-gerontology acute care from Thomas Jefferson University.
