Research and Clinical Interests
Roles of desmosomal proteins in regulating epithelial cell adhesion, growth and survival; deregulation of desmosomal proteins in autoimmune, infectious, and inherited diseases associated with fragility and abnormality in diverse tissues such as the skin, hair and heart; mechanisms by which desmosomal cadherins can modulate mitogenic signaling pathways; genetically manipulated animal models to study human diseases.
