Biography

Amy Copeland is a Visiting Assistant Professor in Jefferson’s Fashion Design department, where she has been an adjunct instructor for 17 years. She brings her experience in couture, childrenswear and bridal to the technical courses, where she has taught studio’s one through five. Amy received her AS in fashion design from Harcum College, where she currently serves on the Board of Trustees. She earned her BS in Fashion Design here at Jefferson and her MS in Global Fashion Enterprises in 2017. Amy has earned various awards along the way. As an undergrad in this department, she earned the Wellman Award in Excellence, the Frank Agostino Eveningwear Award and the International Designer Award of Excellence. In 2017 she earned the Outstanding Adjunct Award. Amy served as the designer for the Warrior Web Project, a collaboration between Jefferson and the University of Delaware through a DARPA grant and has also been the recipient of a Thomas Jefferson University Nexxus grant. Amy also serves as the Fashion Design department’s liaison to the Paley Design Center. Amy has a keen interest in sustainability, and is the proprietor of Raina Luella, a fashion upcycling business.
