Recent improvements to our department include an increase in full-time faculty, complete laboratory renovations, purchase of new equipment, and curriculum updates to reflect current practice with renewed emphasis on preparation for the ASCP BOC MLS examinations. We are confident these changes will continue to support the success and remarkable improvement in student performance on the MLS board examination. Since the implementation of these changes in 2018, board exam pass rates for the MLS program have increased significantly.
In addition, the Medical Laboratory Science program recently received 10-year reaccreditation in 2018, the maximum reaccreditation period granted by NAACLS.
