The Certificate of Advanced Studies in Child Trauma & Play Therapy trains exceptionally skilled child and adolescent therapists who are uniquely equipped with trauma competencies and knowledge, coupled with play therapy techniques and applications to support the health and emotional well-being of children and families. The certificate consists of four classes (for credit or continuing education), designed for professionals who have already earned a graduate degree in counseling or a related mental health discipline, or for students currently enrolled in a clinical mental health graduate program. The certificate prepares graduates to become a Registered Play Therapist™ (RPT).
Curriculum
Classwork can be completed in as little as one academic year, with courses in the fall and spring semesters.
CTC is an Approved Provider of Play Therapy Education (APT Approved Provider 20-608), which grants play therapy specific education hours for students seeking the Registered Play Therapist (RPT) credential.
