Research & Clinical Interest
Dr. McKinney’s research experience includes: health disparities, interracial families, nursing and mental health leadership development, racial identity/relations, socialization, and trauma. As a published researcher, Dr. McKinney presents scholarly research locally, nationally and internationally, and also participates in invited speaking engagements.
Clinically, Dr. McKinney owns and operates a private practice, Paraclete Counseling, LLC in the Philadelphia suburbs. As well, she counsels at a local non-profit organization. Dr. McKinney particularly helps others navigate issues of financial business, grief and loss, identity, infidelity, life transitions, pre-engagement/martial counseling, pregnancy care, and spirituality matters.
