Thorsten is Co-founder and Managing Partner at Knippers Helbig Advanced Engineering with more than 25 years of working experience. In 2001 he founded “Knippers Helbig Advanced Engineering” in Stuttgart. In 2009 the firm founded an office in New York City where Thorsten is the managing partner. Under Thorsten’s supervision Knippers Helbig has become one of the leading engineering firms for innovative specialty structures and facades. Thorsten frequently collaborates with partners in the international architectural scene as well as market leaders in the building industry. Since 2018 Thorsten teaches at the Irwin S. Chanin School of Architecture at Cooper Union, NYC - focusing on the interface between architecture, engineering and fabrication technology.
