Frank Lloyd Wright’s Sacred Architecture

Anat Geva, PhD, a registered architect in Israel and Associate Member of the AIA is a Professor of Architecture in Texas A&M University and a Fellow of the Center for Heritage Conservation. She teaches undergraduate and graduate architectural design studios, and seminars in history of building technology, historic preservation, and history and design of sacred architecture. She published and presented many articles in these areas, including two books with Routledge: Frank Lloyd Wright Sacred Architecture: Faith, Form, and Building Technology (2012), and Modernism and American Mid-20th Century Sacred Architecture (2019). Her forthcoming edited volume (with Inbal Ben Asher-Gitler) Israel Architecture as an Experimental Lab for Modern Architecture (1948-1978) was recently published.

Professor Geva has an extensive record of editorial work, being a book review editor of APT Bulletin; co-editor of ARRIS (the journal of SESAH), and Preservation Education & Research (PER), which she co-established. She is a recipient of several awards and research grants including the prestigious James Marston Fitch National Award for innovative research in historic preservation in America. She just completed her term as a member of the Board of the Society of Architectural Historians (SAH). She was one of the founders and a member of the executive committee of Architecture, Culture and Spirituality Forum (ACS). She is the past president of South East Society of Architectural Historians (SESAH), past vice chair of the Construction History Society of America (CHSA), and past secretary of the National Council of Preservation Education.
