Participating in the Alumni Host Program is a great way for alumni to reconnect and give back to their alma mater and also see the caliber of medical students in the Sidney Kimmel Medical College at Thomas Jefferson University.
Given current COVID-19 restrictions, fourth-year medical students will be completing their residency interviews online this year. Since they won’t be able to visit the geographic regions or hospitals where they’ll be interviewing, we are looking for alumni to connect remotely with students.
Alumni can help students by providing insight into a particular region, hospital, or specialty so they have a better understanding on what it might be like to live and work in the region, hospital, or specialty. All meetings will be take place through a phone call or video chat. There are also opportunities to provide helpful feedback on student’s practice interviews. Your participation goes a long way in assisting our students through this challenging time!
The Alumni Host Program not only benefits our students, it also benefits our alumni who participate. For alumni who live far away or have limited time to offer, it is an excellent opportunity to volunteer and stay engaged with Jefferson and its current students. Alumni Hosts share their experiences and insights, and in exchange, the students offer their unique perspectives and updates on the medical college.
If you are interested in participating in the Alumni Host Program, please complete the Alumni Volunteer Interest Form.
Students have residency interviews all over the country and alumni volunteers are needed everywhere to help meet their requests. Some of the most visited areas we are in need of Alumni Hosts are New York, Pittsburgh, Boston, Chicago, North Carolina, Baltimore, California, and Washington, D.C.
