Kathryn P. Trayes, MD '06, Residency '09, is an assistant professor in the Department of Family and Community Medicine at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in Philadelphia, Pa. She completed her undergraduate studies at Wake Forest University and her medical studies and family medicine residency at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital. She is board-certified by the American Board of Family Medicine.

Dr. Trayes' clinical interests are in dermatology for the primary care physician and women's health, with a particular interest in breast cancer survivors. Dr. Trayes has published in several peer-reviewed medical journals and has served as a senior consultant for textbooks for medical student preparation for the USMLE.

In addition to her clinical work, Dr. Trayes also serves as a leader in medical education as Associate Dean in the Office of Student Affairs and Career Counseling at Sidney Kimmel Medical College at Thomas Jefferson University. In this role, she provides career, personal, and academic counseling to students, is involved in curricular design and extracurricular programming, serves on numerous committees as a representative for the medical college, and oversees the production of the Medical Student Performance Evaluations for all graduating students. She is especially proud of her involvement in developing and implementing MD Compass, a four-year co-curricular program designed to help medical students navigate the career planning process and successfully transition to residency. Additionally, she serves on the Board of Directors of the Physician Aid Association of the Delaware Valley and as an editor for SkinMed: Dermatology for the Clinician.

Dr. Trayes is proud of the education she received at Jefferson Medical College and has embraced being part of the Jefferson "lifers" community.
