Hae W. Shin, MD '94, grew up in a quiet suburb in Maryland and graduated from Columbia University in New York City with a Biochemistry major. Continuing her studies, she moved to Philadelphia to attend Jefferson Medical College, graduating in 1994. She then did her internship and residency in Diagnostic Radiology at Mercy Catholic Medical Center. She did her fellowship in Body Imaging at the Hospital of University of Pennsylvania.

After completing her training, she settled in the Philadelphia area while starting a family, raising three children, and joining a private practice. The practice is now part of the Jefferson Health Care System, Jefferson Northeast. During her professional career with the same group, she has been affiliated with many hospital systems including Graduate Hospital, Holy Redeemer Hospital, Lourdes Hospital and Robert Wood Johnson at Hamilton, New Jersey. She served as the Chairperson of Radiology at Robert Wood Johnson at Hamilton, New Jersey from 2009 to 2015.

Currently, she continues to practice full-time at Jefferson Northeast and specializes in cross-sectional imaging. She is also focusing on her own health and fitness by running and swimming.
