In 2006, Nicholas Siciliano, PhD, co-founded Invisible Sentinel, a molecular diagnostics company that predominantly serves the food and beverage industries, where he currently serves as the CEO. He is the inventor of the company’s proprietary platform technologies, veriFLOW® and veriPRO®, and led the company’s business and R&D initiatives from concept through acquisition. In February 2019, Invisible Sentinel was acquired by bioMerieux, a global diagnostics company and a market leader for infectious disease testing. Prior to the acquisition, Invisible Sentinel had sold over 1 million assays in 60 countries to food and beverage manufacturers, breweries, wineries, third-party testing laboratories, and government labs.
Dr. Siciliano received a BS in Chemistry from Villanova University and shortly thereafter began his scientific career in the Department of Microbiology at the University of Pennsylvania Medical School studying host-pathogen interactions. He then earned a PhD in Immunology and Microbial Pathogenesis from Thomas Jefferson University where he studied antigen presentation.
Dr. Siciliano is also the founder of Paratope Technologies, a science education company, and Immuno-Spy, a life sciences consulting company, and serves on the Board of the Greater Philadelphia French-American Chamber of Commerce. He also serves as an advisor for several biotech start-ups and lectures in entrepreneurship. He holds multiple utility and design patents for diagnostic technologies and has published scientific manuscripts in the fields of bacteriology, virology, immunology, molecular biology, and cancer immunotherapy.
